heimatec brings Christmas cheer:

Generous donation supports important projects for people with disabilities

Oh, joyful . . . that's the mood at the Association "Leben mit Behinderung Ortenau" when, every year at Christmas time, the family Krieger, who manage the company heimatec in Renchen, visit the Renchen residential home to support special projects with a generous donation. This year, Martin Krieger, Gabriele Krieger, and Kay Krieger once again delivered the donation in person during a visit to the Renchen residential home. In times of dwindling public resources, partnerships with committed companies are particularly important for the association. Thanks to this generous support, many special services for people with complex disabilities in the Ortenau district can be continued or made possible for the first time. "It is important to us to create long-lasting social added value. Here locally, we can see the impact of our donation, which is why we have been supporting the residential home for many years. Our help goes directly to those who need it," emphasized Kay Krieger. Sabine Sauer, a member of the parents' association's supervisory board, knows how important this is. Her daughter has been living in the Renchen residential home since it opened 11 years ago and, according to Sabine Sauer, has a home here that is tailored to her needs and provides exactly the support and care that she needs. The therapeutic services in particular are very valuable to her.

During the conversation, Wolfgang Dürr, manager of the home and chairman of the association, also reported on the two new residential projects that the association would like to build in the “Blumenau-Lickelsbühnd” development area starting in spring 2026. On the one hand, a residential building with small shared apartments is to be built. There, 16 people with high support needs will live in two to four shared apartments or learn to live independently. They will receive support tailored precisely to their disabilities. On a separate plot of land, assisted living facilities for up to 12 people with disabilities will be built. This is because the situation on the housing market is particularly tense for people with disabilities. The association, which already runs such a residential facility in Achern-Gamshurst, knows how great the demand is.

“We greatly appreciate that heimatec understands social responsibility as part of a sustainable commitment,” said Dürr. This value-oriented attitude makes a difference – for the association, for people with disabilities in the local area, and for solidarity within society.
