heimatec presents innovative rotating gripper for Nakamura NT-Flex at EMO Hannover

New product optimizes precision and efficiency in machining

heimatec GmbH, a specialist in precision tools, is presenting its newly developed rotating gripper for the first time at this year's EMO in Hannover. The world premiere of the tool will take place from September 22 to 26 at the Nakamura-Tome booth in Hall 17, Booth B34.

The innovative gripper system was designed in close cooperation with Nakamura-Tome specifically for the NT-Flex turning machine, which was launched just ten months ago. A special feature is the ability to clamp the gripper directly onto the driving shaft – made possible by special machine-side requirements of the NT-Flex. Compared to conventional systems, this ensures significantly simplified and accelerated operation.

The rotating gripper acts as a steady rest and can support the workpiece during machining. This leads to increased precision and improved machining results. Thanks to integrated bearings in the gripper arms, the workpiece can rotate freely despite being supported. The chuck jaws with roller allow complete machining around the workpiece without the need to reposition the material – a real time and cost advantage in the production process.

For maximum cleanness and precision during machining, two compressed air feeds are integrated, which remove chips from the workpiece and thus ensure a smooth process. The rotating gripper is designed for workpieces with diameters between 8 and 38 mm and, with a shank size of BMT 35, is specially tailored to the requirements of the Nakamura NT Flex.

With this innovation, heimatec once again underlines its expertise in the development of high-quality special solutions for machining. In addition, the company offers numerous other live and static tools for the Nakamura lathe.
